What is Shiva Yogam?
Shiva Yogam, the sacred science revealed through the five faces of Lord Shiva, is the eternal source from which all paths of yoga emerge. Also known as the Shiva Agamas, this divine wisdom unfolds through four progressive stages called padas.
- Charya Pada – focuses on selfless service (Karma Yoga)
- Kriya Pada – focuses on devotion and worship (Bhakti Yoga)
- Yoga Pada – focuses on inner energy awakening (Kriya Yoga)
- Gnana Pada – focuses on self-inquiry and knowledge (Gnana Yoga)
Lord Shiva did not offer this sacred wisdom as a theory to be studied but as a sacred map to transcend the cycle of birth and death (samsara) and realize the eternal Self.
Shiva Yogam is the supreme path of inner realization. a sacred science that transforms the human into the divine, merging the individual self with the supreme consciousness of Sadashiva.
Our guru, an enlightened mystic and yogi, unveils this timeless yogic science not as abstract philosophy but as a living, direct inner experience guiding every seeker to awaken their true nature.
The Eternal Path: Shiva Yogam Through Time
All paths of yoga that exist today — from classical to contemporary — are branches of the eternal tree of Shiva Yogam.
Great enlightened beings like Thirumoolar, Agasthiyar, Sivavakkiyar, Patanjali, Adi Shankara, Vallalar, Mahavira, Buddha, and countless other Siddhas manifested this truth in diverse ways. In response to the needs of their time and people, they offered unique expressions of the same eternal wisdom — all rooted in the one purpose:
To dissolve the limited self and merge into the Supreme Consciousness.

Understanding Your Inner Tendency
Every human being is a unique expression of the Divine, composed of four fundamental aspects:
- Body
- Emotion
- Energy
- Mind
While all four aspects reside within each person, one tends to become more dominant, shaping the way one lives and seeks. Based on the prominence of a particular aspect, one nature of being takes precedence, with the remaining three acting as supportive forces for the seeker’s evolution and transcendence.
Body-Dominant
Physical action is natural and effortless, and the body functions as the most efficient tool.
Emotion-Dominant
Emotion flows deeply, and life is experienced more through the heart than the head.
Energy-Dominant
Sensitivity to subtle energies is high, and life is felt more as vibration than thought or emotion.
Mind-Dominant
Clarity, discrimination, and the thirst to know truth are dominant.
Each nature aligns with a corresponding padas of Yoga — Karma, Bhakti, Kriya, or Gnana.
The Sacred Initiation of Shiva Yogam
Guru Thillai Azhagan, a mystic and yogi, initiates each seeker into a personalized yoga sadhana.
Through the sacred process of Shiva Yoga Deeksha, he identifies the seeker’s dominant aspect and uses it as the primary tool for transformation while aligning the remaining aspects to support the seeker’s journey.
To those driven by action
He offers Karma Yoga, transforming activity into sacred offering — supported by devotion, energy, and wisdom.
To those steeped in emotion
He opens the heart through Bhakti Yoga, where devotion blossoms into divine union. Love becomes the guiding force — with action, energy, and insight flowing behind it.
To those sensitive to inner energies
He initiates the seeker into Kriya Yoga, unlocking the subtle dimensions of life. Inner energy is awakened — and grounded in love, clarity, and selfless service.
To those guided by intellect
He imparts the clarity of Gnana Yoga, revealing truth through direct insight. Knowledge becomes the liberating — with devotion, discipline, and energy as its wings.
In Shiva Yogam, no path is excluded. The dominant aspect leads, but the entire being is brought into harmony, creating a complete and balanced journey of transformation.
Spiritual Realization: The Only End to Human Suffering
All human suffering—whether physical or mental—stems from one root cause: the fundamental ignorance of the self.
Only through self-realization, the direct experience of one’s true nature, can suffering be dissolved.
With the Guru’s grace, the seeker’s dominant aspect is aligned with the right padas. transforming body, emotion, energy, or mind from burdens to gateways. In this sacred alignment, yoga awakens as a living force. Suffering is not merely suppressed but transcended. Through this realization, the seeker awakens to the timeless truth.
This sacred initiation does not impose a path.
It reveals the inner architecture of the seeker.
And awakens it from within.
